The University of National and World Economy in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Republic of Bulgaria organises high-level international conference. The event is co-sponsored by NATO Public Diplomacy Division. Among our partners are Institute of Metal Science, Equipment and Technologies – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the George C. Marshall Association – Bulgaria.

The objective of the International Conference is to discuss and identify opportunities and possible instruments for implementing regional Multinational projects in CEE/SEE countries under NATO leadership in close cooperation with the EU. NATO speakers, think-tanks, academics, high-level experts and officers from the Ministries of Defence, Defence Industry representatives, and representatives of ICT companies will discuss the opportunities of multinational projects, based on national priorities and possibilities for regional cooperation in CEE/SEE countries under NATO umbrella, including applicant and partner countries.

The participants will seek opportunities for cooperation in the area of National investment plans, related to the modernization of the armed forces, capabilities for participation in the specified plans of the Defence Industries of each country, projects in the field of Information & Communications Technology (ICT), Cyber Security and e-Government for each country, preparation of forces, and innovative solutions for capability development.

One of the main goals of the project is to provoke debate on the topic of establishing a Central and South-Eastern European cooperation, based on the successful model of existing cooperations within NATO. Good practices for establishing a coordination body, such as a joint regional office of NATO Agencies – EAST (JONA EAST), which will support faster introduction of NNEC (to start with air and missile defence, cyber defence, crisis management, expeditionary operations / mission network) will be introduced and discussed.
