- In our master's programs can be studied graduates students of the Bachelor's degree in economics, as well as graduates of other non-economics.

- The department "Economics of Tourism" regularly invites guest lecturers from business to share their practical experience and knowledge.

- The mentioned master's programs prepare specialists for operational and managerial work in banks, stock exchanges, tour operators and travel agencies, hotel complexes, restaurants and entertainment establishments and institutions involved in the regulation of tourism, such as the Ministry of Tourism, the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria and others. Also destination management organizations, airports, airlines, event companies, consulting companies, project companies, monetary and financial organizations and many others.

- Students acquire a higher level of competence with knowledge providing professional economic training and professional knowledge in the field of globalization in tourism, tourism alliances, entrepreneurship in international tourism, tourism policy, public relations in international tourism, reengineering and risk management in international tourism, international tourist transport, leisure management, organization of international tourism, e-commerce in international tourism, financial instruments in international tourism, creativity and innovation in tourism, competitive advantages in tourism, management consulting of the tour operator business, marketing management in tourism, tourist fairs and many others.

In the specialty Tourism, specialists are prepared for operational and managerial work in banks, exchanges, tour operators and travel agencies, hotel complexes, restaurants and institutions and institutions involved in the regulation of tourism.

Students acquire university knowledge providing fundamental economic training and professional knowledge in marketing, management, business law, accounting, monetary and credit relations, international economic relations, competition and competitiveness of the tourism product, tourism resources, technology of tourist services, reengineering and risk management in tourism, quality management in the tourism company, tour operator, traveler agency, hotel, restaurant and animation.

The students' education is oriented towards acquiring knowledge for the effective use in the tourist activity of the geographical, climatic and balneological conditions, as well as the richness and originality of national and foreign monuments of history and culture, religion, folklore, traditions and original architecture. Particular attention is paid to foreign language training and business communication skills.

Depending on the preferences of students, specialized training is provided in the following areas: international tourism, management of tour operator, agency and transport activities, management of hotel and restaurant activities, management of cultural tourism, management of agrarian (rural) tourism, etc.

Graduates of the specialty can lead and participate in the marketing, production, innovation, investment, accounting, financial and intermediary activities of tourism companies, as well as carry out foreign exchange and stock exchange operations.

The Department of “Economics of Tourism” was established in 1990 with a leading Specialty ‘Tourism”. At present, it trains 752 students. Graduates can be leader or participate in marketing, production, innovation, investment, accounting, financial and brokering activities of companies in the sector of tourism, as well as to carry out currency and exchange operations.
