“Logistics in the Changing World” is a traditional international conference focused on the problems of the development of logistics in our country in the context of bringing it in line with the world and European trends. The first conference took place in 1993 followed by eight conferences in 1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2014. The total number of the participants exceeds 450 and more than 60 of them are foreign researchers from USA, Great Britain, Netherlands, France, Finland, Italy, Macedonia, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, and Serbia. In the past nine international conferences the logistics practices in many organizations were presented like: logistics associations (Dutch, Italian, Russian), companies (Philips, DHL, Schenker, Kuehne + Nagel, Eurosped, Kaven&Orbiko, Factiva, Coca-Cola, AI Data Processing, Frigo, Storact, M&M) and software companies producing logistics software like НР, SAP, BAAN, MGS XenoX , Logistics Vision.

The main organizer of the nine conferences is the Department of Logistics in UNWE. During the years the department strengthened its position as a leading centre providing business for highly qualified logistics specialists.

The 10th Anniversary International Scientific Conference “Logistics in the Changing World” is dedicated to the 25 Anniversary of the establishment of the Logistics Department and the specialty of Business Logistics in UNWE. It will take place on 17 and 18 October, 2016 in UNWE. The more direct aim of the Conference is to reveal the latest trends in the development of logistics in Bulgaria and worldwide, to link them with the Bulgarian science, education and practice and in this context to continue to win recognition of UNWE as the most significant educational and research center in the sphere of logistics in Bulgaria. The conference provides a forum for: presenting research works and practices; analyzing and revealing the trends in logistics development and consequent challenges for science, education and practice; identifying the areas of future research and educational activities; stimulating the cooperation between education and practice, between scientists from Bulgarian and foreign universities.
