Two New Projects Ranked for Financing from the Scientific Research Activity Fund to the UNWE

In 2013 the Economics Department participated in the competition for financing of projects from the Scientific Research Activity fund to the UNWE by two projects:

Government Efficiency As a Factor for the Competitiveness of Bulgaria, Scientific Head of the project - Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Marikina
Competitive Opportunities in the "Green Economy" and Forming a Model of Social Ecology in Bulgaria, Scientific Head of the project – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanya Ivanova

Both projects are approved and ranked and it continues the tradition of successful participation and presentation of the scientific collectives from the Department in the university scientific research projects.

Collaboration between the Higher and Secondary Education

Lecturers from the Economics Department – Assist. Nikolai Velichkov, Assist. Anika Petkova and Doctoral student Ivan Nakov took part in a Commission on the assessment of knowledge on General Economic Theory of pupils from the National Trade and Banking High School in the competition titled We Know More. Guests of the event were Prof. Dr. Ognyan Simeonov, First Vice-Rector of UNWE and Head of the Financial Control Department as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marcho Markov – Vice-Rector and Head of the Economics Department.

The same Commission participated also in the assessment of the performance of school groups in the XIV Fair on the project Integrated Practical Education worked out by the National Trade and Banking High School and devoted to the 100^th Anniversary from the High School foundation. One of the prizes in the Fair was handled by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lilia Jotova, Dean of the General Economics Faculty of UNWE.
