Prof. Dr. Carlos Flavian with keynote speech in Third International Scientific Conference "Strategic Planning and Marketing in Digital World"

On November 23 and 24, 2023, the Third International Scientific Conference "Strategic Planning and Marketing in Digital World", organized by the department of Marketing and Strategic Planning, took place at UNWE and online in MS Teams. 153 scientists and researchers from 17 universities took part in the conference, and presented their 94 reports in the field of strategic planning and marketing in the terms of digitalization.
The keynote speech of Prof. Carlos Flavián - "Beyond the Uncanny Valley challenge: designing AI-based services to enhance consumer experience" aroused great interest among the participants. The scientific researches of Prof. Flavian put him in the list of top 1% of most cited authors in the field of Marketing, as well as in the 2023 list of Highly Cied Researches of Web of Science (Clarivate).

The head of the "Marketing and Strategic Planning" department - Prof. Hristo Katranjiev expressed his satisfaction with the participation of a scientist of the rank of Prof. Carlos Flavian: "It is a pleasure and an honor for us to have Prof. Carlos Flavián - a proven scientist in the field of Marketing - as a speaker today. I will allow myself to share a few facts about our guest: Carlos Flavián is Professor of Marketing at University of Zaragoza (SPAIN), leads the METODO Research Lab and is Spain's most impactful marketing author. His research explores human-technology interactions (including Internet, AI, AR/VR/XR), studying both particularities of technology (usability) and perceptions, behavioral intentions and actual behaviors of consumers (adoption, recommendation, eWOM, satisfaction, loyalty.. .) on contexts such as tourism, retailing, etc.
He holds editorial roles in several academic journals (including Strategy Editor of Service Industries Journal and Spanish Journal of Marketing-ESIC, Europe Regional Editor of International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management) and has guest edited several special issues in prestigious journals (International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management; Service Business; Service Industries Journal; Journal of Service Management; Journal of Service Theory and Practice; Psychology & Marketing).
